Background:
Norma (the carpenter's Level) is a very small constellation, visible during winter. Its figure has only three connected stars, amost looking like an "L". It is difficult to find due to the many stars in the vicinity, and can easily be confused with Telescopium nearby which also looks like an "L". Regardless of its size, Norma lies within the milky way path and contains a few very worthy deep sky objects.

Where is it?
Norma can be found between Ara and Lupus and near the Scorpion's tail, in winter. It lies in the southern skies.

Finding it:
If you know Ara, you will find Norma quickly. Be sure to correctly discern between the various stars within the Norma boundaries, as there are quite a few. Use a detailed star map to guide you, as a planisphere might not be sufficient. To avoid confusion with Telescopium, remember that Norma lies between Ara and Lupus.
